TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: Begin of Tour Bandar Lampung (Sumatra) - Way Kambas (L/D)
Upon arrival in Bandar Lampung meet and greet with your local host. Continue driving 2 hours to the Ecolodge in Way Kambas village. At night, you are invited on a night-bird spotlight in the park with the local bird club (optional). You may see owls, nightjars and frogmouths. Overnight in lodge.
DAY 02: Way Kambas (B/L/D)
In the morning you will visit the Way Kambas Elephant Conservation Centre, home to 65 Sumatran elephants. It is a delight to watch and help bathe the elephants, play with the feisty young ones or learn more about elephant care from the mahouts. This centre is improving all the time and with more attention and support the elephant welfare will rise to the hoped for standard. Then continue to Kalibiru Atas. There you will trek into the tiger territory with your expert tiger guides. The Sumatran tiger is a highly endangered animal but relatively safe in this park. Kalibiru Atas is a very active area for tigers who hunt the sambar deer while graze on the grasses. Late afternoon back to the lodge, dinner and overnight.
DAY 03 : Way Kambas - Java (B/L/D)
After breakfast, take the route to Bungur through rural Sumatra with your guide and park ranger. At Bungur you take a small boat slowly up river for 2-3 hours. On the right is the forested park and on the left is a panorama of small holder farms where cattle or buffalo plow the fields. You should see plenty of water birds and raptors. Some of many species of Kingfisher will be seen especially the Small Blue. Hopefully you see some primates (long-tailed Macaques and Langurs – not Siamang Gibbons as they are more central in the park). During this period you will stop for a coffee break on the edge of the river. After this you will be taken down a side stream for a short hike in the forest to an area which is being reforested (assisted by SIES and ALERT) where there is a park out station. Check out than continu to Kalianda, overnight./B/L/D
DAY 04 : Krakatau - Carita (B/L/D)
After breakfast at 7:00 we board the fast boat (cruising) the Sunda strait to the famous, deserted, active volcano island Krakatau 35 miles away, to sea is left of the biggest explosion ever recorded in history mankind (1883) approximately 1; 30 hours, * Landing at the beach of Anak Krakatau and climb up to the first top of volcano than step your foot on it searching closely the minerals (Volcanic bomb, lava) from the bottom of the earth which were thrown up through its crater, from the top you can see the wonder beautiful sea view of krakatau arcipelago. Then we will go by cruise to Rakata Island to explore the coral reefs at Rakata Island. Legon Cabe, or 'big' Krakatau, is around 20 minutes boat journey away and has a beautiful coral reef around one side that offers excellent snorkelling and the views over to the peak of Anak Krakatau are superbnorkeling activity. lunch time, will be served on the beach while enjoying the beautiful day at Rakata Island. Late afternoon we will go by cruise back to Carita, and it will take around 1,5 hours cruising, arrive in Carita, overnight
DAY 04 :Ujung Kulon
After breakfast at 8:00am than transfer to south coast of Cikaung Village where the road down the coastline ends, is just outside the park boundary. The village features refreshing atmosphere and calming nature than trek through the ancient Ujung Kulon Rainforest with a naturalist guide. This leisurely hike into the lowland rainforest lets you explore a variety of tropical flora and fauna under the vast canopy. Your guide will help you spot birdlife and other wildlife along the way.to Cikacang at Honje Mountain range the slope of this area the habitats of the Java gibbon, black monkey and variety of animal and birdlife, overnight at by camping/dinner (free program)
DAY 05 : Ujung Kulon
After breakfast enjoy a quick hike across the lush rainforest of Ujung Kulon in this two-four hour morning tour for nature lovers! bring you into the lowland rainforest of Gunung Honje, Here you can observe a multitude of Ujung Kulon wildlife, including exotic plants and over 141 species of birds. If you’re lucky, you may even come across flying lemurs, mouse deer, Javan rhino, Javan gibbon, black leafe monkey wild boar, and civets during the night are also found the Rhino occasionally sighted in this region. over night at the camp, dinner time will be served at 6. 30pm (free program)
DAY 06 : Ujung Kulon
After breakfast enjoy a quick hike discover the hidden treasures of Ujung Kulon's Rainforest Experience one of the most ancient rainforests on this tropical peninsula with a 3- 5 mile round-trip trekking through the dense forest.. Get in touch with the nature and explore Ujung Kulon’s biological treasures and its lush rainforest. Arrive (lunch) in village. overnight
DAY 07 : Ujung Kulon - Jakarta
After breakfast continue by boat than cruise/seasighting to Handeleum Island - lies between the group of magrove islands, observing some of the wild animals like crocodile, kingfishers, monkey and deer in its natural habitat, or just enjoying the view of the place/walking aroung island. return back to Jakarta. End the tripp
